Baby Arlaurën came to visit me.
Baby Arlaurën came to visit me. I was over the moon. She is sooooo cute and just adorable.
Luckily and purely by accident, I got really close which meant that she could see me – I didn’t realise that at 9 weeks old a baby can only see 18 inches in front of them and what they do see is in black and white. Babies don’t develop their colour vision until around 4 months old.
Equally she isn’t to know that my eyeball is the largest orb found in a land mammal and has a correspondingly oversized retina. This means that it magnifies everything I see and up close objects appear 50% larger than they do to you humans.
So here we are both looking at the world and seeing it completely differently.
It got me to wondering how easy it is to expect people to see things the way you do, when in reality that just may not be true.
