From over the rainbow bridge
I’m writing this from over the rainbow bridge. Sadly, I was put to sleep last Friday. My humans, Lisa and Heidi and my owners Jacqui and Michelle are all devastated.
Many of you know that I’ve struggled with my breathing for the last couple of years. I’ve had the best medical attention and numerous tests, scans and a cocktail of drugs, and the prognosis still wasn’t good. I was going downhill fast and not even enjoying just mooching about in my field with my buddy, Que.
Due to ignorance, greed or just a plain lack of kindness, I was born to an institutional brood mare, who wasn’t in the best of health, and then dumped as a tiny baby on a Welsh mountain without suitable nourishment! My lungs weren’t properly developed and have deteriorated as I’ve grown up.
I didn’t have a long life but I did have a great life.
I was loved, cherished and adored. I had lots of adventures and I like to feel I made a positive difference to those whom met me.
I’d like my legacy to be one of kindness. Please campaign for animal welfare, educate where you can, and above all just be kind – to animals, your friends, colleagues, yourself, and even strangers you pass on the street.
Love Wilson x
